Texans are always excited to welcome the RODEOHOUSTON Super Series to town. The community gathers every winter to celebrate what makes Texas special.
This year's rodeo will run from February 27 through March 17, 2024. In addition to rodeo thrills, the event features many family- and kid-friendly activities like musical performances, animal shows, and a full carnival.
RODEOHOUSTON Super Series
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo features the RODEOHOUSTON Super Series as its centerpiece. Professional riders show their impressive livestock skills and keep traditions alive.
The fast-paced, exciting rodeo action appeals to every family member. This year, rodeo organizers will award $2,178,000 in prize money for competitions like bareback riding, steer wrestling and barrel racing.
Rodeo Activities for Kids
Dr. Carpio especially enjoys events where the younger cowboys and cowgirls take center stage. These events include Mutton Bustin', a high-energy activity for five- and six-year-olds. Kids can experience the fun of the rodeo in a safer setting while wrangling sheep. Custom mouth guards from Kids and Teens Dental Place can keep the cowboys’ and cowgirls’ teeth safe. The event runs in NRG Stadium and all day at The Junction.
Children and adults can participate in the Livestock Show. People of all ages love to visit with the animals. They can also see animals up close at AGVENTURE, included with NRG Park admission.
Kids can let off steam at the Houston Rodeo Carnival, which features rides, games, and food. Everyone is sure to find their favorite carnival treats, including turkey legs and funnel cakes.
More Activities to Enjoy
The RODEOHOUSTON Super Series and Livestock Show has more to explore:
- The 2024 World's Championship Bar-B-Que competition from February 22 to 24
- A-list musicians like Blake Shelton, Hank Williams Jr., and Luke Bryan perform
- Drone Show and fireworks every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm
Celebrating Texas Pride
The rodeo helps preserve the traditions that make Texas a great place to live and raise a family. Start a family rodeo tradition and enjoy the fun that is in store.
Keep Your Active Kid's Teeth Safe
Kids and Teens Dental Place wants to remind all parents to talk to their child's dentist about getting a custom mouth guard. Mouth guards can protect young rodeo competitors' teeth from accidental injury.
Mouth guards are an excellent idea for children who play any sport, especially if they have braces. Our dentists can help parents decide which protective appliance to choose based on their child's activity level.
